Description
Over nearly 28 years as a lifeboat man I have, like all lifeboat men and women, seen some big seas, the worst of tragedies, grief, illness and death. This book contains a few of the many hundreds of shouts I have been on; it is intended to give you an insight of what happens on a lifeboat when launched on ‘a shout’ from the perspective of just one of the crew. Some of the jobs mentioned have affected me deeply, turned me into a bit of a wimp and I struggle when in the company of someone who is grieving. Even when watching the telly I can get a lump in the throat. When my wife Elaine hears me quietly gasp she says “need a hankie?” ?. Some jobs are just the funniest and best times you can have, I hope you find the book interesting.
